What is a merino sheepskin rug?
A sheepskin rug is the tanned pelt of a single sheep, used as a floor rug, a chair drape, or a soft surface for meditation, yoga, or a nursery. Our rugs come from merino sheep — a breed prized for the softness and fineness of its wool — raised on our own farm.
Where does this rug come from?
Each rug comes from a specific named sheep on our farm. Our flock is rotationally grazed across pasture, woodland edge, and forage we manage without synthetic inputs. Because we raise the sheep ourselves, the full provenance is known — the sheep's name, the pastures it grazed, the season it was sheared.
How do I care for it?
Brush the wool occasionally with a wire pet brush to keep it lofted. Spot-clean with a damp cloth. Shake out rather than vacuuming aggressively. Keep out of direct sunlight when possible to preserve the wool's color. For more on cleaning and care, please visit www.buckscountyfurproducts.com/.
